Always Provide: Aug 21st

Aug 21st, 2024

Happy Hump Day:) A weekly update on my path to becoming a provider that I hope inspires your journey. Enjoy!

1 big thing: The Psalms are So Good

Never stop praying. We can be in agony. We can feel frustrated. We can be stressed. We just need to keep praying. All of these feelings are just called "living." What makes us providers like Jesus is that we never stop praying.

  • Why it matters: We can ultimately end at a place of peace as long as we keep praying and "remember his salvation by grace."
  • Try reading the Psalms. They're a great book of the Bible written by real people with real challenges. They remind me there is no formula. We talk to God about the real issue. If you want some help understanding the context of the Psalms, the devotional song of Jesus is my go-to.
  • Provider next step: Pray through a Psalm today. Start with Psalm 1, it's short and beautiful.

2. 🎙️ New Podcast Episode!

My Favorite Devotionals, Podcasts and Practices for Spiritual Growth. The Become a Provider podcast show continues with a new solo episode I just released. I'm going through the pillars of becoming a healthy provider, and this short episode shares some of the best books and voices that inspire my growth, such as the devotional listed above on the Psalms.

Listen or watch the video of this episode! Be sure to follow our podcast on your favorite app, and now you can also watch the interview on our CL Thomas Fellowship® YouTube channel.

3. 🏃 Running 100 Miles September 27th!

My next ultra race will be the Yeti 100. I'm back into ultra racing and punched my ticket for another 100-mile trail race on the Creeper Trail in Damascus, Va. This will be my first time participating in this race.

This is just a weird part of my provider journey. Participating in these ultras pushes me mentally and physically. It's not for everyone; it is just a way I provide for myself and develop stronger habits and mindsets.

Support me. I'm always surprised when people ask how they can support me in these ultra races. Some friends are already interested in pacing and rooting me on during the event. If you want to join the race day support crew, just reply to this email. If you want to support me financially, donate to the CL Thomas Fellowship's "Provider Fund." It's a non-profit and all donations are tax deductible. We are raising funds to support people getting a chance to work with a primary care provider so your support is appreciated as always.

Thank you for the opportunity to document my provider journey. I hope it inspires you to be a servant leader like Jesus.

Bless & Protect,

Justin Thomas

April 3rd, 2025 Happy Thursday! I am getting back into the habit of sharing weekly(ish) encouragement to provide like Jesus through this newsletter. I recently had the opportunity to share at my church and wanted to summarize the talk below. Enjoy! God is With Us Even When We Don't Feel It Running 100 miles reminded me God is with us. When I woke up for my last ultrarace, I looked at my alarm clock and immediately sensed the words "I am with you." What a gift. I meditated on these words all...

March 20, 2025 Hello again! It's been a few months since our last "weekly" update from the CL Thomas Fellowship®, and today is the perfect day to reconnect. It's been 8 years since my father, CL Thomas aka "Pop" passed away. And I have a gift to share in his honor. 1 big thing: Bereavement Support for Friends of the Fellowship We partnered with BEREAVE to offer free bereavement support in 2025. I connected with the founders of BEREAVE, who built an online portal specifically to support people...

Nov 6th, 2024 Happy Hump Day! Here is your weekly encouragement to always provide in your life. It's been a couple of weeks since my last update so let's dive right in. 1 big thing: Do Good Work. My Election Day Strategy Was to do Good Work. Everyone is called in different ways to serve. This week, I have felt at peace focusing on doing good work consulting clients on their benefits and finally getting a few to-do items done! Advocating for Direct Primary Care. I found myself campaigning with...
